Western North Carolina Air Museum Plane: Western North Carolina Air Museum is located in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The organization mission is "Preserving the Carolinas' rich Flying Heritage and Promoting General Aviation." The airplane featured in this photograph is The Nieuport 11 "Bebe." It was an allied fighter that flew in World War 1. The engine - 80 hp LeRhone rotary engine - was unique in that the engine spun with the propeller. The Air Museum is a fantastic place to visit to view some historic airplanes.
