Breathtaking Upper Whitewater Falls by Amy Dundon: This is a view of Upper Whitewater Falls captured near Cashiers, North Carolina. At 811 feet, Whitewater Falls is the highest waterfall east of the Rockies. The Upper Falls (as shown in this image) is 411 feet. The upper part of the waterfall is in North Carolina, on the Whitewater River in the Jocassee Gorge area- in Jackson County. The 400 foot Lower Whitewater Falls is located in South Carolina and empties into Lake Jocassee where it can be viewed from a boat. Enjoy the beauty of this spectacular waterfall.
